Shuttlesport North Central Badminton Academy is pleased to announce that Anna Rice, two time Olympic Badminton player, will be visiting ten Northern BC communities this coming September & October.  The final stop will be in Quesnel and Prince George.

Northern B.C. Badminton Roadshow

By Anna Rice

Last week I returned from the first 11 days of a 16-day road trip across Northern BC. After having had the privilege of representing Canada in badminton tournaments in over 50 countries around the world, it was awesome to finally get to see the North of my own Province. I was shocked at the incredible beauty of this unique landscape.

The first leg of Roadshow began in Fort St. John on September 22 and ended in Terrace on October 3.  The main purpose of this Roadshow is to promote badminton and healthy living to kids and adults in as many Northern Communities as possible. The Mastermind of the operation: one of B.C.’s most energetic and dedicated badminton enthusiasts, coach Lisa Davison of the North Central BC Shuttlesport Badminton Academy.  Lisa approached me with what she calls her “crazy idea”...

The final stop will be in Quesnel and Prince George.  In Prince George Anna will be joined by 2010 National Doubles Gold Medal Champions Alvin Lau & Jon Vendervet as well as Christin Tsai, 2011 Junior National U19 Singles & Mixed Doubles Gold Medal Champion, for a weekend of camps, clinics & exhibition games.

Everyone is invited to see the pros play singles, doubles & mixed doubles matches on October 21st & 22nd.  See below for more information on the Exhibition Games.  Entry is by donation and don't forget to enter the draw to "Play with the Pros" on the top right hand side of this webpage.  Any age can enter!
